Dear Dorothy: The Crimean War (singular) was fought between 1854 and 1856. The Service Muster Rolls which list the men who went to the Crimea can be found in the British National Archives at Kew. If you cannot go there, professional researchers can check for you, but they are not cheap. In taking a quick look at the Medal Rolls (available on a CD from Yesteryear's Genealogy), the closest name I could find in the 93rd Regt was Malcolm McKiver (spelling may be wrong, as it depended on the literacy of the clerk, and/or if the soldier knew how to read, write, or spell his name. If his first name or middle name was Malcolm, this may be your descendant, but it would take more research to determine this for sure. Other suggestions: Contact the Regimental Museum and see if they have any pertinent records. Join the Crimean War discussion group at Yahoo Groups and post your question there. Maybe one of this group has a burning interest in that regiment and might be able to help or refer you to other sources.
