I have additional info, but not of John and Marion Colquhoun in Scotland. My family history starts with my grandmother, Una Colquhoun, and her father Johh Foster C.
The National Archives at Waltham provided the info of John F. C.'s father Matthew (all living in Mass.) and his parents John and Marion C., place born: Scotland. I found their marriage info, 1828, at the Family History Library in Salt Lake on an Elderhostel. There is an Alexander listed in the 1880 Census - 24 years old, living in Mass. Wish I had more information. I do not have any references to Ireland. There is a John Colquhoun in Mass. in the 1880 Census, age 75, born Scotland. Not sure if it is one and the same. I don't want to assume.
