Sir John COLQHOUN of Cargagh, County Donegal, Ireland c1608

The Land Grants of Donegal County (?1608?) lists:

16. The Laird of Luss (Sir John Colquhoun), 1,000 acres called Cargagh.

Are all or most of the Colquhoun (Cahoun, Cahoon, Calhoun, etc.) Scots-Irish descended from Sir John? Or was this only one of many early Colquhoun settlements in Ireland?
