Cause of death for Joseph C. McCullough From Rockbridge VA

Joseph C. McCullough and three brothers from Rockbridge Co., VA, joined Co. K, 11th Virginia Inf, in the Confederate Army early in the war. Three were AWOL in the summer 1863. They returned in the fall but Joseph C. was tried for deseration. He was sent to the Salisbury prison in Jan. 1864 where he died 9 Feb. 1964. Is there any records of Joseph C. listing the cause of death? or Is there any records of the deaths in the Confederate Army personel? Help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. John S. Campbell, jsc@erinet.com. Also, 1022 Donald Drive, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
