Manassa Cairns is usually spelled Carns or Carnes. I have looked for years to find a connection between him and John Middleton. It would make sense that John's wife could be the connection, but I haven't been able to find a marriage license. The Carns family was in Jefferson Co. OH before moving to Carroll/Tuscarawas area. 1850 is the only time Manasseh was found in Harrison. I would be glad to compare notes with you.
