W. Cairns(dob1875-1880?)/Agnes Matilda Fitzsimmons-Are we your lost family?

My grandparents were W.(Wilmer?)Cairns and Agnes Matilda Fitzsimmons. Their children were William James Cairns dob Dec 25, 1908 Medicine Hat Alta.(my father) and his sister Dorothy Jean Cairns dob July 12, 1910 in Medicine Hat or Queenstown. W. Cairns (my grandfather)was a railroad man and apparently killed in a railway accident in Alberta. We have a picture portrait of him taken in approx. 1911 showing him to be approx. mid to late 30's. His wife Matilda later remarried (between 1912 and 1914) to Waterford Ferdinand Mallett, a farmer/railroader who was born in Charlottetown, PEI but later moved to Alberta living in Medicine Hat, Queenstown and lastly Calgary. They had one son together born in 1914, registered as Waterford Ambrose Mallett, stepbrother to my father and his sister (Cairns). My brothers and sisters and myself have been registered as "Mallett" but our birthright is "Cairns" as we don't know if our father and his sister were ever legally adopted by Waterford Mallett. We would all very much like to meet any of our relatives on our Grandfather W. (Wilmer?)Cairns side of the family. If you have any information that might help us, we would love to hear from you.
