Andrew Cairns born in the summer months (june/july) 1900 in Canada (Ontario) but settled in England after being discarged from the Canadian forces due to a bullet wound to the leg. He was tall with black hair and good looks. He moved to Redditch with a fellow canadian. Andrew denied he could speak French though on his army discharged certificate where directions written in French. He subsequently married a scottish widow, Elizabeth Sword (formally Menzies of Perth) and had a daughter Selina Audrey Cairns. Andrew had a photograph of a rowing teamed dated 1940s and claimed it to be him, though the photograph was of a young man possibly in his teens named "A.Cairns" we have suspicions it may be his son and also Andrew may have had a sister called Selina who died in a car accident when she was in her late teens (19). Andrew died in 1981 in Bromsgrove hospital. Andrew's daughter Selina knows nothing of her canadian heritage and would be grateful of any information. I am Selina's daughter.
