In 1780 Pa., Jacob Cable was given guardianship over Abraham Faith. "At an Orphans Court held at Bedford in and for the County of Bedford the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty, before Samuel Davidson, David Espy and Abrahm Cable Esquires, Justices of the same Court. Came into Court, Abraham Faith orphan of Thomas Faith decesed and chose Jacob Cable of Brothers Valley Twp to be Guardian of his Estate." Bedford County Orphans Court Docket No. 2, page 3. I believe that there is a close "family" relationship between these two families , Cable's and Faith's. I know that Abraham is either Amish Mennonite or Quaker. I have seen other information pointing to the fact that some "Cable's" may have been Quaker. Does anyone have any information on the religion of this Jacob Cable and where he may have been living in Somerset County and also of course, any other information on Abraham Faith?
