Cassandra, I'm surprised at your willingness to put forth the time and energy on this--and I am grateful. I'm sure many Cabaniss descendants will be thankful. No telling how many family cemeteries have been unknowingly lost forever due to construction. I think this Charles Cabaniss' father was Matthew Cabaniss, son of Henri Cabaniss. (My line flows from Matthew through one of Charles' brothers, George, so I qualify as one of Charles' very distant relatives.) Henri was a French Protestant immigrant who arrived in America on July 23, 1700. If you are interested, you can download a short book on some of Henri's descendants from my web site http://cabaniss.home.texas.net. The book is a pdf and you will need Adobe's free AcrobatReader version 3 (or greater) to open it. The specific address for the book is: http://cabaniss.home.texas.net/pdffiles/4Gen.pdf The information about "your" Charles is on the book's page number 17. I hope more knowledgeable family members will see your post and be able to provide more information about Charles. Let me know if you find out more on "your" Charles and the identities of others in the cemetery. Also, let me know if you have any troubles with the book. Joe
