I am sorry I can't really help you with this William H. Cabell. But if he or your grandmother were cousins of Earl Cabell I can help a little on this. Earl Cabell is my husbands great great Uncle, whom my father-in-law knew fairly well. My father in law's mother was Shingo Marie Cabell, only child of Earl's brother John J. Cabell

I hope you realize that once a name was given to a Cabell child it was used close to umpteen million times until someone thought up a new name. LOL almost as bad as the Rodgers'

The Cabells of Dallas begin during the Civil War. William Lewis Cabell married Harriet Amanda Rector. William L. was the son of Benjamin W. S. Cabell and Sarah Epps Doswell. Benjamin was the son of Joseph Cabell(Jr.) and Pocahantas Rebecca Bolling. and on and on.

There are directories availabe in Dallas and Travis Counties that may have your William H. Cabell. By the way do you know what his wife's name was?

This may give you a different angle on things and again I hope it doesn't confuse the issue.

Susie
