I am unable to trace parents of my ggrandfather, William H. Cabell. He was probably born in Amherst Co., Virginia sometime around 1844. He enlisted in 2nd Virginia Cavalry, Co. E. I was told by some researches from Amherst that a line of Cabells was left out of books because of an age old vendetta. I am beginning to believe by ggrandfather was from this line as I am still at a dead-end although one of the ladies from there did find a marriage certificate of a William H Cabell to a Fannie Irvine in 1869 and I believe this maybe him also. Would there be anyway that you could possibly see if there is a reference in your book of Cabells of WV that might include him. I would really appreciate any bit of info in this matter.
