Samuel Jordan Cabell

I have a book written in French called "Les Avantures de Telemaque, FILS D'ULYSSE, Par feu Mellire". Some might be a name.
The book itself is another story though. Inside the front cover is a typed label that reads "Samuel Jordan Cabell, William & Mary College, 1775, Amherst County." Now I know Samuel Jordan attended William & Mary then joined the Virginia Volunteers to fight in the Revolutionary War. My questions are these:
1. Was the Cabell family wealthy?
2. Are there any William Youngs or Betsy Dyes in the family history?
3. Does anyone know the history of this book?
Any information would be appreciated.
