Cabe/McCabe Surname DNA Project

Hello Cabe cousins,
I am new to the Cabe Family Gen. Forum website, but not a newcomer to Cabe family research.
I would like to share some great news with you about a project that is a new tool for us to work with in our pursuit of our roots. That project is Y-DNA testing from the various branches of our family tree. The project is being headed up by Celia Graham. I know that most of us who have been researching the various Cabe/McCabe lines have gotten back to about the mid 1700's and hit the proverbial "brick wall". I believe that this is our best opportunity to possibly break through that brick wall.
Our purpose for this project is to determine how many of these various branches of the Cabe/McCabe families go back to a common ancestor. Any male with the surname of Cabe or McCabe who would like to participate in this project can do so by logging into www.genebase.com and ordering a test kit. The process is simple. The kits are $119.00 plus $12.00 shipping and are mailed directly to you. The DNA sample (cheek swab) is then mailed back to their lab.
Those of us who don't qualify to supply a DNA sample to test can help by helping to sponsor a male Cabe/McCabe relative or by recruiting a male Cabe/McCabe relative to be tested.
If several of our various lines find that we are all looking for the same common ancestor it will be a great help and who knows we may even luck out and find a link back to the "mother country"! There has already been what appears to be a close DNA match with an individual by the name of McCabe who has traced his family back to Ireland. We do need to get a broader base established before we can come to any firm conclusions.
We would appreciate it if anyone who chooses to participate in this project will contact Celia Graham or myself, so we can keep track of who is involved.
