Hello there.

I know I have a Buswell connection through my father who's family was from Market Harborough. There were quite a few Buswell's around the area which is quite close to the Leicestershire - Northamptonshire border.

I know the Buswells that I'm decended from had a cabinet makers shop in Leicester (we have a photo of it from the late 19th century). My parents still have some furniture made by the apprentices from the shop. My Dad said the shop was where Thomas Cook did his apprenticeship, although I dont know of any paperwork to back this up.

The Cannadian link adds up, I know my Great Aunt goes to Cannada every couple of years to see friends and relatives.

If you want more info I will need to have a chat with my Mum and Dad. However I can strongly reccommend having a hunt through records in Market Harborough and the villages towards the Northants border.

Oh -and for interest- the Market Harborogh theater is said to be haunted by a Hannah Buswell, a murdered girl who worked in the Inn (The Green Dragon) formerly on that site.
