Barbara, I too have heard the story of the family name change. As a little girl I was told that the name was spelled wrong on a medal but the medal was received at the Battle of Trafalgar.. again, another story that was passed from generation to generation. I honestly think that you and I are searching for the same connection and that you and I might want to communicate on a personal level about this.
