1.
DAVID BABCOCK b. 1756 in Stonington, New London, Conn.
He is s/o SILAS BABCOCK b. 31 Dec., 1735 in WESTERLY, R.I. & PHEBE WOOD b.c. 1731.
He married his wife THANKFUL;unknown' , b4 1785, in Stephentown, Renssealer Co., N.Y. before
emigrating to Canada (Kingston & Ernestown) abt. 1793.
Thankful and David Babcock had 5 sons, --
Eli b.1790 , William ("Bill")b.1791, Silas b.1793, Henry b.1794, Zeba ("Zebe") b. 1797
Thankful and David Babcock had 3 daughters, --
Phebe b. 17 Nov, 1785 in Vermont , Rebecca b. 1787 NY , Thankful b. 1789 NY .

2. (CAPTAIN ) DAVID BABCOCK b. 1752 Haverstraw Twp., Orange County, NY State.
He left home in 1776 to join the army.
He passed Muster March 16, age 25, and soon raised to rank of Captain in 1777.
Muster records describe him as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, small face, black hair.
He married Barbara Garlick, in NY State, Oct 2,1779 .
In 1783 David, with his wife, Barbara Garlick , and many Loyalist families arrived as refugees in Annapolis Royal,
Nova Scotia.
Records in Public Archives of Nova Scotia -- show Land Grant to David Babcock , 300 acres, in 1788 at Tusket
River, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia.
David and Barbara had 1 child born b4 1788. - Name unknown.
David's wife and child , died in Annapolis Royal, in 1788, as the result of a fire
David Babcock went to Kingston Twp., Ontario , in 1788.
David Babcock received a Location Certificate for 200 acres of land ; Lot 20 Concession 3 ; in Richmond Township,Ontario on September 23rd ,1789.
David married his 2nd wife, Elzabeth "Peggy" Howe,
on Dec 15,1789 in St. George’s Anglican Church
in Kingston Twp. ,Ontario.
Elizabeth and David Babcock had 4 children :
Margaret Babcock b. c. 1791; William Escott Norman Babcock b. 12 Jan., 1794 ,Benjamin Babcock b.c.1803 ; Elizabeth Babcock b.c. 1804.
David married his 3rd wife, Mercy Smith of Kingston , Ontario, on Sept 29, 1808.
Mercy was born c. 1784 in Pittsdown , Rensselaer Co. , N.Y.
David and Mercy Babcock had 5 chidren :
Daniel Babcock b.c.1811 ; Darius Smith Babock b.c.1812 ; Mary Babcock b. c.1813 ; Belknap Babcock b. c.1813 ; John Babcock b. b4 1819 .
Captain David Babcock died c. 1818 in Kingston, Ontario ...
His son in law, Ely Peters, was appointed Executor.
