The Graves of Thomas MCNABB and Kessiah BABB--Worthington, PA
Posted by: Kelly Marshall (ID *****4740) Date: December 18, 2007 at 17:48:32
  of 1989

A grand find for me today--a record of the gravesites of my third great-grandparents, Thomas McNabb and his wife Kessiah (sometimes, Keziah) Babb in the United Presbyterian Cemetery of Worthington, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. No dates are recorded for Thomas (he died prior to the 1850 census); and the dates recorded for Kessiah are 1801-1868.

The source for this information was a typed record in the Public Library of Butler, Pennsylvania--a few miles west of Worthington--and the gravestone readings were made in August 1978. A distinction is made between this cemetery and the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, which is noted as being the cemetery of the "first" Presbyterian Church there, located on Cherry Street. A warm weather search, perhaps, will locate the markers, if they still are standing.

The McNabbs were the parents of Mexican and Civil War soldier John Babb McNabb (about 1824-1893), who married Elizabeth B. Williams; and their daughter, Margaret McNabb Bowser, was my great-grandmother.

Kessiah Babb was the daughter of John Babb (1768-1829) and Rebecca Caster (1769-abt. 1851).
