I have three original photographs of Amato ancestors, which I would like to get back to family members. Written on the backs of the photos are ”Ralph Amato’s father”, “Mother of Ralph”, and “Frank Amato, Ralph’s brother”. These all came from Blue Island (Cook Co.) IL.
I found Frank listed in Blue Island (Cook Co.) IL census of 1930, the next page over on the census from Ralph, who was age 14 in 1930, and who lived with his parents, James (48) and Anna (42) Amato. Frank was age 27. In SSDI, I found that Frank was born 19 Feb 1903, and that Ralph was born 24 Jun 1916. Based on the census, I am confident that Frank and Ralph were the sons of James and Anna, and those are the two parents whose photos I have. The third, of course, is of Frank, born in 1903.
